Boards arrived last friday so I've been spending this weekend doing that.
I'm butting the boards tightly up against each other because this wood is sopping wet and will shrink.
I used a pipe clamp first to get stubborn boards to but up tightly but eventually it got too short so I had to think of a new way.
Also made a hole template so I'd get all the screws down the same. Though as time went on it got worn out and I got better and faster results just using my combination square.
Because of the constant on off rain and my miter saw station being made from MDF, haven't been able to use it. So I mocked up a simple miter saw station outside that I can plonk the saw down into. Pretty solid setup and I can plonk down a plank and cut it to the same length repeatedly.
As you might have observed I prefer to buy old tools whenever possible. For money reasons and also because I think older tools are usually better made because they haven't been engineered over time for improved sales margins. This old ELU saw is a solid tool that was sold because the wire had broken, seller didn't know what was wrong so I got it cheap.
